Solimut: EBCP update and crisis exercise

Find out how Netsystem helped Solimut Mutuelle update its EBCP (Emergency Business Continuity Plan).

Context & objectives

Solimut’s primary role is to provide its members with supplementary health and personal protection. In this way, it contributes to the social protection of people throughout their lives. As a major player in the mutualist movement, it defends, among other things, the principle of a high level of social protection accessible to all.

In compliance with its obligations to the ACPR and the implementation of the DORA directive, Solimut ensures risk management by implementing an Emergency and Business Continuity Plan (EBCP).

Business challenge

EBCP can be defined as “a set of measures designed to ensure that, under various crisis scenarios, including extreme shocks, the provision of services or other essential or important operational tasks of the company are maintained, if necessary temporarily in a degraded mode, followed by a planned resumption of activities”. The EBCP establishes the principle that the mutual insurer must take measures to ensure that its business is maintained in all circumstances, even if only in downgraded mode.

In addition, European Regulation 2022/2554 of December 14, 2022 on the digital operational resilience of the financial sector (DORA) came into force on January 17, 2025. It aims to harmonize provisions relating to cybersecurity and IT risk management in the financial sector.
